Bloomington, MN - 24,000 square feet
Completed December 2014
This project’s design challenge was to find a way to refresh a worship environment that felt like it was living in the past. Empty choir risers crowded the platform. An obsolete rear-screen cluster loomed above. Pastiche arches were covered by a pull-down projection screen. The baptismal font remained inaccessible. The mauve pew cushions and carpet were wearing thin.
The design response was to renew and enliven the worship facility through an enlarged flexible stage, fresh finishes and seating, expanded platform and support spaces with an accessible baptismal, and a new sound, video, and lighting system that would reach a new generation with bold colors, crisp images, and bright sound.
